Thursday Thoughts

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I’ve got work to do, so let’s get to it: this week’s Thursday Thoughts!

 

1. Saturday is Miss Molly’s SECOND BIRTHDAY! She is SO grown up now! She accepts gifts.

2. I “slept in” today until 5:45am because our class is online only. How sad is my life? Haha.

 

3. Has anyone tried out the Beautiful Mess app? It lets you quickly add doodles and words to images on your iPhone – my friend Maddie said I had to try it out! Obviously I tried it out on a picture of her dog, Penny!

4. Overnight oats are saving my early mornings, but I think the dairy from the yogurt is a bit much for me. Anyone have some good non-dairy overnight oats recipes they want to share?

5. These were on sale at whole foods this week – LOVE them! Just wish they weren’t so expensive for such a tiny bar… (that’s coming from the girl who will buy Quest Bars in a heartbeat…).

6. I don’t know what it is, but I feel like I’ve lost my “sparkle” this week… You ever feel like you just want to curl up and hide away from everything? Or maybe just go live on a sailboat (haha sounds nicer)? That’s me this week. Let’s hope I get some sparkle back.

  1. I lost my sparkle this last week too. I don’t want to talk to ANYONE. Like seriously, get away from me. I know everyone means well, but dude – the only person I want to talk to is my mom, so stop calling me!!! Lol, understandable, right?

    Aaaaaand – I just use almond milk for my overnight oats.

    • Haha SO understandable. I’m that person who goes invisible on gchat so no one will talk to me, and I don’t even have good reason like you!

  2. I know OhSheGlows posts overnight oats recipes without yogurt and they’re pretty good! I also use Almond Dream yogurt or Amande sometimes when I want a creamier breakfast (you could try coconut if you didn’t want to use the Almond milk versions) and it tastes good!

    I’m so ready for this week to be over!

I never have dairy in my overnight oats…the night before I combine: 1/2 cup oats, chia seeds and/or shelled hemp seeds, cinnamon, pumpkin (optional), and enough unsweetened vanilla almond milk to get everything stirred together….in the morning I’ll add a little more almond milk to get it all moving, and then top it! nuts, nut butter, berries, etc.
    You could always use a non-dairy yogurt in place of a dairy yogurt you may (?) be using now…I like the So Delicious plain Greek yogurt the best (no carrageenan in it!)

  4. what time do you usually go to bed when you have to wake up at 5? I am curious 🙂 I usually wake up at 6:25 but this last week it’s been 5:25 due to working in a primary school? Tam

  5. I use almond milk and chia seeds and i think its yummy!! you can also stir in peanut butter or almond butter the night before which makes it a little thicker

  6. I use plain soy yoghurt – non GMO in Ireland so no worries, but I’ve seen other blogs with coconut and almond yoghurt? We don’t have it here in Ireland but it would be amazing. Otherwise I just use one whole ripe mashed banana stirred through the usual mix! 🙂

  7. I’m usually a lurker, but I had just had to comment on the fact you slept in until 5:45 today! I’ve been up at 3:30am for work all week and finally slept in until 7:15 today. It’s crazy how schedules can change based on obligations!

    • Haha I love that you use the term “lurker”! And I agree, it’s so weird how “late” can be an incredibly relative term!
