Thursday Thoughts

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all having a great week! My week is pretty good seeing as we don’t have class today or tomorrow; lots of time to get some work done! I’m heading out of town next week to be in my friend’s wedding so I want to try and at the very least catch up with work… Hopefully I won’t have to do TOO much while I’m gone. Oh well. Anyway, on to this week’s Thursday Thoughts!

1. I’ve recently become quite a fan of The Bloggess, so I love this graduation gift I got! Can’t wait until I get a chance to start this one.

2. For Molly’s birthday we took her to the dog beach. I have never seen her more excited in her entire life. She was whimpering and leaping around the car (and on me) when she realized where we were going.

3. I have the focus of Dori from Finding Nemo right now. Seriously. I cannot pay attention to studying for more than 10 minutes at a time.

4. Um, Chicagoans, who’s in? Fabio will be at the giant Whole Foods tonight… AHAHAHA. I was slightly disturbed by all these life-sized cardboard cut outs…

5. I tried a new kind of tea at David’s Tea on Monday: Cocoa Canela! It had little chocolate chips in it… I was so tempted to ask how often they pick those out (because obviously that’s what I’d do if I worked there), but I refrained.

6. Sometimes I’m one of those annoying people who doesn’t care about a sport until the team does really well and it becomes a big deal (in my defense I am a forever-loyal KC Chiefs fan…). These past couple of weeks? The BLACKHAWKS!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! We’re (okay, “they’re”) in the Stanley Cup Finals!

7. I FINALLY tried the Love Grown Hot Oats that I brought home from Colorado a couple months ago. Verdict? Delicious! Seriously, they were pretty darn good!

8. Over the past couple of days I’ve found that if I’m in a funk or a bad mood, consciously changing my thoughts really does help! Power of positive thinking.

Are you a fan of instant oats? Have you tried Love Grown Hot Oats?

Any hockey fans out there?

When was the last time you went to the beach?

  1. I was just at the beach yesterday actually 😀 it was pretty cloudy, but my bf and I went for a nice walk along the shore 🙂 today is a rainy/gloomy day, so I’m sure happy that I got to go yesterday 😀

Molly looks so happy! I LOVE THAT!

    • Haha maybe it depends on the kind of dog? Molly was scared at first too though, but once she got in there she loved it!

  2. I want to read that blogess book too!! She is hilarious.

And love the hot oats. I turned to them quite a few times during house work stress for something quick and easy. Now I’m wishing I saved more of them for this coming week when we’re moving and I know we won’t be cooking fully most of the week.

  3. I hope you got to meet Fabio! I got my photo at Whole Foods with him, didn’t know he was going to be there, totally random! His whey protein shake was okay too!

  4. I just celebrated my dog’s second birthday 🙂 I made her cupcakes with yogurt frosting and then she opened her presents, of course (and I then proceeded to write a blog post on the occasion, lol! *dork*) Let us know how that book is — the Blogess is OMG hilarious!!

  5. I love love love the Blogess. I go through spurts of reading her blog where I will catch up on her old posts. So funny and so real.

I know some people don’t like reading book reviews, but please let us know what you think of it! I’ve heard mixed thoughts, but it just sounds so funny. Right now I’ve been listening to Bossypants on my long commutes to work/home. I have a feeling that I’d like Let’s Pretend It Never Happened as well.

Fabio! Ah. I almost just want to go buy a romance novel despite the slim possibility that I will ever actually read it… No, just so that I can say that I own a book with him on the cover 🙂

  6. I can’t wait until Atticus is a little older so I can take him to the beach – Molly looks like she had an amazing time! I’ve read the Bloggess a little bit and she’s hilarious…I’d love to to pick up the book sometime.
