Oh gosh, I can’t believe it’s already Thursday!? What happened to this week??? Well, guess that means it’s time for another Thursday Thoughts!
1. Anyone else still an America’s Next Top Model fan? I’ve been watching ANTM since the very first season, and I have to say I LOVED that they added boys to the competition this year. I just watched the finale and I have to say I was really happy about the winner, if you watch – what did you think?
2. Did I mentioned I’ve joined a Skeeball league? It’s with the same league I played kickball with this summer, just indoors! Don’t know what skeeball is? I had to google it before I signed up… But I’m not bad! I guess I practiced enough as a kid in arcades?

3. I am SO EXCITED for Thanksgiving next week!!! It’s by far my favorite holiday. Yes, I get the warm fuzzies around Christmas and love the Christmas season, but as for my actual family celebration, Thanksgiving is by far my favorite. Cocktail attire, plenty of champagne, great food and an entertaining family. Can’t get better than that!
It’s a fun bunch. I wonder if I can find that dress again…
4. I went for a run yesterday outside because I looked up the weather and it said the wind was only 7mph (I HATE running in the wind so I avoid it at all costs). When I got out on the path, however, I decided weather.com is now lying to me. I was running straight into some strong wind for the first two miles before I turned around – NOT a happy camper.
5. I won Erica’s Go Macro bar giveaway and received them on Monday – I can’t wait to give these a try!
6. WHERE ARE ALL THE JOBS!?!? Seriously. I mean, there are jobs, but very few that are relevant to my education and very, very few relevant to my education AND in Chicago. And by “very, very few” I mean the only one I found and applied to was a secretary position because it was at an organization I’d die to work at, but I STILL didn’t get an interview.
7. Last night I put together a blogger meet-up dinner at Homeslice in Lincoln Park. I was really excited about this because they had gluten free crust as an option for their pizza – it’s rare that I get a pizza so I always embrace it when I can!

Um yes, I play with S3 Leagues here in Chicago, but look for some in your area! I bet there are some kind of social sports leagues!
Boo on the lack of jobs in your field! I hate that! Before getting this job, I was feeling like I was in the same boat. There were assistant positions which I’m probably over-qualified for at this point and not quite qualified for the higher-level positions listed without someone wanting to take a risk on me. Hang in there, the right position will come along when the time is right! 🙂

My Thanksgiving was back in October, but I did definitely enjoy it! I’ve noticed that Canadians don’t make as big of a deal over Thanksgiving as Americans do though – I think we’re more about Christmas!

omg it is a blast. We need to go to this bar sometime to play skeeball and the batting cages. Not exactly a fancy bar… but fun.
Skeeball is so fun! You are way overqualified for a secretary position, that is probably why they didn’t even think to contact you – they assumed you’d be too good to ever take the job! So don’t get down on yourself about that! I would look into contacting whomever you worked for your 1L and 2L summers. A lot of my friends went to law school and ended up getting offers from wherever they worked their 2L summer, and I think that’s pretty typical!
Yea, I figured I was overqualified. I so would have done it anyway! And I can’t work for my summer employers, I worked at the EPA and they are not hiring externally. Policy that started before my 3L year and won’t change unless the government suddenly gets magical money or everyone quits. Lol should have worked at a firm…
I used to be ATM addict! Now that Nigel and the Jays are gone, and the men are on…I have stopped watching altogether. I used to look forward to watching this show every week. Honestly, don’t even know what day/time it’s on anymore. I miss the old days. The changes have been horrible, IMHO!

Hope you give a review on those Macrobars. I have tried two kinds and I didn’t really care for them. They are high calorie, high sugar, and not that much nutrition. I haven’t tried them yet, but I’ll let you know what I think whenever I do. And I have tried those bars and didn’t really like the taste, kind of cardboardy in my opinion.
Do you ever eat something that is not gluten free? Once in a while? Like maybe stuffing on Thanksgiving or some regular pizza or a hamburger on a bun?

okay, well very occasionally I’ll have a small bite of something like a couple chocolate covered pretzels on my froyo or a taste of something that someone else ordered but i’ve never had more than that. It really depends on the person though. Personally, I’m too nervous to try much more than that out and honestly don’t feel a need to. I do, however, have a friend here who has added some gluten back into her diet and feels fine.

Before this year I hadn’t watched America’s Next Top Model for YEARS! But somehow my husband and I stumbled upon this year’s season on Hulu and got hooked! I loved the addition of the guys to and I was sooooo happy with the outcome! (GO GIRLS!)

I did NOT know that was called skeeball. I think I played that game over 100 times as a child. While it was super fun I think I only ever “won” once. Lol. Lucky streak of them all going into the top hole.

Good luck with job hunting. I know how frustrating it can be. I had no idea that there were skeeball leagues. Where do you guys play? I think I’ve only ever seen them at arcades here.
We play at a bar that has a bunch of arcade games and batting cages near Wrigley Field. There are several bar/arcades here, pretty cool concept!
