Before I get started, I wanted to share with you all Anna’s Etsy shop! She’s the inspiration behind my post in general today since she introduced me to Piyo, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to share her shop. She makes the cutest scarves and also does water-colored stationary. Be sure to check it out:
Now on to my new workout program! For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you probably already know that I’m trying out Piyo workouts. Apparently it’s a very popular thing right now, although I’d never heard of it until I started following Anna on Instagram and joined one of her Challenge groups.
Piyo is a workout program that gives you a 60 Day schedule of workouts and the DVDs to do the workouts. One of the things that I love about it is that they are all around a half hour (a couple are a bit longer) and you can do them at home without any equipment!
From the Piyo Website:
PiYo isn’t like standard Pilates and yoga classes that make you hold long, intense poses, or lead you through dozens of repetitive, microscopic core movements. PiYo speeds everything up—including your results—by introducing you to dynamic, flowing sequences that can burn serious calories at the same time as they lengthen and tone your muscles and increase your flexibility.
With every action-packed PiYo session, you can burn excess fat and sculpt and define your whole body, as you minimize the aches and pains that can come along with high-impact workouts. No matter your age, no matter your body type, PiYo will help give you dramatically visible, incredibly beautiful results.
I’m a week in and so far I like it quite a bit! It’s really easy to follow along on the videos and the instructor is great about making sure that you’re doing the moves correctly and have good alignment. I can also feel my legs getting stronger already!
Since I’m only a week in, I’ll be sure to give a final review once I’ve either finished the 8 weeks or given up… Haha hopefully I don’t give up and can stick to this for the whole time!
Are you doing any kind of workout program right now?

I’ve never done insanity, so I don’t know. But PiYo is mostly pilates and yoga
I certified to teach PiYo back in 2010, it is a pretty good program. I
t wasn’t my favorite though, so I never pursued teaching it for long, but I’m all about whatever floats someone’s boat & helps them love to exercise & get stronger! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
