Weekend & Workout Round Up!

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for Thanksgiving! I can’t believe I’ll be going home in two days! Here’s a look at what I did this weekend:

Thursday night was skeeball, which was a blast, and then Friday night I was invited to a Friendsgiving Dinner hosted by a girl on my skeeball team. She lives near Chinatown so this is the scene I was greeted with when I got off the El:

monday 1

We had a great variety of food (I made cranberry sauce) and it was a lot of fun to get to know a new group of women. I didn’t take any photos since my camera was about to die, but I stole this pic from the hostess’s facebook:

monday 5

I had gotten my long run in on Friday since I wasn’t sure of my Saturday plans, so on Saturday morning I decided to head out for my last 3 scheduled for the week. Although I surived it was freezing (22 degrees) and very windy! I’m going to have to work on my layering skills…

monday 2

After my run Saturday morning I headed to the El where I met Kelsey on a train and we headed out to Evanston to meet up with Lindsay! She’s taking classes and has a Chemistry lab up there every Saturday, so we wanted to check out Evanston and meet her for lunch. We had lunch at Taco Diablo but didn’t walk around much since it was so cold!

monday 4

After lunch I got off the train a few stops early to head to target (needed some file folders to organize papers) and I saw these beautiful pajamas. Check out the footies! Who needs a good Christmas gift?

monday 3

On Sunday morning I had church and then I headed to Starbucks to get a little work done. After a bit of time at Starbucks, Colleen came to meet me. Her sister had recognized me a few weeks earlier and told me Colleen was a runner with a blog (C Smith Run) and that we should meet. I’m so glad we did because we had a lot in common!

Now, on to workouts! Here’s what happened last week:

Tuesday: 3 miles + Purely Fit Weights Workout

Wednesday: 4 miles + 20 Min Purely Fit AMRAP pyramid workout

Thursday: Purely Fit HIIT workout

Friday: 7 miles

And here is what I have coming up for this week:

Is anyone else doing a Turkey Trot this year?

What was one thing you did this weekend?

    • Haha they totally would have been worth it! And for the race just be sure to layer up but not toooo much because you will warm up once you get moving! I promise, it’s not as bad as it seems!

    • Try out indoor workouts like those from Purely Fit or Tina Reale. As well as videos, I LOVE Jillian Michaels’s videos, like Ripped in 30!

    • oh how fun! And this will be the third year in a row we’ve run it together! Ever since I started racing my dad decided to start running too, so it’s something fun for us to do together!

  1. I’ve always wanted to do a friendsgiving, but I can never stomach the thought of hosting thanksgiving twice in a row. Maybe one year! Also, Target footie pajamas…I have a pair with owls on them. I have no idea why they never made it to HLS. Obviously that would have won me more friends. 😉

  2. I am volunteering at our Gobble Gallop in Duluth MN! I was going to run – but volunteering sounded like a fun opportunity! =) Love all your happenings from the weekend. Can’t wait for more free time! I’m about…2 weeks shy of being done with the semester!
