Since I’m apparently now awful at taking pictures of everything I eat throughout the day… I managed to get a few and then everything goes downhill. So… here’s another WIAW lately post! I’m also super proud I got a little food prep in this weekend! I chopped up veggies for snacks, got a bunch of salad ingredients from the bulk bins, made brown rice and quinoa, made my own almond butter AND I made Red Lentil Dal for easy meals!
If you’re new to WIAW, head on over to Peas & Crayons to see what it’s all about and check out the other participating bloggers!
Breakfasts:
Can you take a wild guess? Lots of protein oat bran!
Meals:
Here’s the salad stuff I bought:
And salads! This one has carrots, corn, hummus, nutritional yeast, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and balsamic vinegar.
Here is a side salad (hummus, avocado, nutritional yeast, balsamic vinegar, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds) and the lentil dal with brown rice.
Here’s a salad that was a bed of fresh greens topped with my leftover Mexican food from getting lunch with my brother!
And last week I had a few lunches at Hannah’s Bretzel. I always get half a sandwich (on GF bread) and their Ella Salad, which is AMAZING.
Snacks:
Obviously lots of quest bars:
Prepped and cut veggies:
Apples:
Frozen berries in almond milk or greek yogurt with plenty of Almond Butter and candied ginger on the side:
And coffee. Lots of coffee. And some tea. Oh and cider… how’d that get in there?!
And there was plenty of un-pictured chocolate, ginger chews, and ginger candies.
What foods have you been loving lately?
Any cider drinkers out there?
Your salads all look so good, one of my favorite salas toppings is frozen corn. I love shopping in the bulk section of whole foods for salad and snack making supplies. Love cider, it’s my first choice when out with friends.
WF bulk section is the best!
Your breakfasts and salads look delicious! I can live on salads…oh yeah…I’m vegetarian…now I understand! 😉
Haha I’m sure you love salads then!
I’m horrible about taking pictures too. I’ve already failed at taking a picture of breakfast. Boooo.
lol we can be failures together
When I’m home I love prepping veggies for the week! I cut up celery sticks and carrot sticks and call them crunchy munchies 🙂
Haha that’s cute
Mmm you are so creative with your salads! I have been obsessed with adding cocoa powder to my oatmeal lately–every morning for the past three weeks 🙂
I’m all about cocoa powder in my oatbran! I ran out last week and it just hasn’t been the same!
Congrats on the food prep! Sounds like you have a wide variety of healthy options at your disposal!
Your salads look yummy. And so colorful!
Thanks, Beth!
Yum! I love mixing sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds as salad toppings. Have you made the strawberry almond butter yet?
Lol I ate all the almonds…
mhmmm I love cider! have you ever had raspberry cider?
No, I haven’t ever seen it!
That’s such a good idea to stock up on salad mix-ins. Definitely makes for some easy preparation! I’ve made the chocolate protein oat bran a couple times and I’m a fan. Oh, and the Quest bars…nuff said.
I’m glad you like the chocolate oatbran! I’m in love.
I have been dying for a cider and every bar I go to don’t have them! I refuse to buy a pack for my home since I will either drink all of them in one sitting, or leave them sitting in the fridge until next fall. I guess everything gets better with age, right?
Haha I never buy them either! Although most bars here tend to have at least one option.
I’ve been into salads lately, so easy. I’m always really into coffee!
Haha coffee is my lifeline right now!
Wow. You were the food prepping queen this week! 🙂 I bet that helped a lot when you were hungry and wanted something quick.
All of your salads look nice and fresh– great idea to use up leftover Mexican cuisine on top.
It has been SO helpful this week!
Your breakfast bowls get me every time!
SO GOOD!
lentil dal sounds delicious..there is always lots of coffee in my diet!
It’s a pretty good recipe! Although the cilantro added at the end really makes it.
Let me know when you need me to refill your ginger chew stash…
Anytime my love, anytime. I eat them like nobody’s business.
haha I laughed out loud when I read your cider comment. Took me by surprise!
Haha some post-kickball game celebration!
If you would make me a salad everyday I would be so happy…and healthy!
Haha I’m loving them!
Always nice to see I’m not the only cider drinker in the world. I do enjoy an Angry Orchard every now and again, though I think my current favorite was a pear cider I had at Wilde. SUPER good.
Oh yes, pear cider is pretty good too!
Oh my gosh–your food all looks so so good! Nice work staying & eating so well even amidst all the crazy studying & such. IMPRESSIVE!
Thanks, Annette!
I was horrible about taking food photos yesterday too… Hence the no WIAW post today. 😉 I don’t know how some bloggers take photos of all their meals!
Your food looks deeeeelicious!
I guess I just fell out of the habit of it!
I have been SO bad at taking food pics since getting pregnant! Plus, I feel like my blog is not about the food these days anyways 😉
LOVE quest bars, been eating those so much too! Cookie dough the best!
Oh gosh, I would be even worse about it if I were pregnant! Too much going on!
I used to be a big cider drinker…it’s one of the drinks of choice in Ireland but I don’t drink at all anymore. That is one humungous salad stash you got yourself!!! 🙂
Haha I’ve barely put a dent in that thing of greens!
all of your salads look amazing. I love salad toppings – I’m pretty sure it’s the only way I get myself to eat so many salads.
omg me too! Toppings make the salad!
I have been loving quest bars! the chocolate brownie is my favorite right now!
That’s a great one for a chocolate fix!
your oat bran + salads look amazing!
ive ran out of oat bran now 🙁 need to go out and buy some me thinks hehe!
You must go get some more! I ran out at the end of last week, it was so sad!
I love all of your salad toppings! I need to start adding pumpkin and sunflower seeds to mine!
I’m loving the seeds!
I love lentil dal! Actually, I love lentils in general, but Indian dishes are so satisfying and comforting to me.
I have yet to try Hannah’s Bretzel, but I’ve been hearing about it forever. I’ve got to make that stop a priority sometime this summer (when I tend to head into the city more often).
You MUST try Hannah’s Bretzel! The lunch line is always out the door!
I love cider! I would have to say the Angry Orchard Ginger cider is my favorite. So glad I found your blog!
Thanks for reading, Katie!
we just started drinking cider and love it!!!
it’s so good! I wish I’d discovered it years ago!
Lately, I’ve been loving smoothies, banana oats, chocolate (always), and the ridiculous amount of cake that has been in my life recently (a lot of recent birthdays!)
Um cake sounds fantastic to me!
I have a bad obsession with angry orchard. Someone left some at my house one day in the fall and I had a serious problem there for a little bit. I haven’t had one in a while, but now after seeing it I may be back on the train!
Ah it’s so good!
Yum, yum, yum! Everything looks so good! I need to try these Quest bars they are all over blogs right now!
