Thursday Thoughts

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having a great week! Today’s my last full day in Kansas City before I head off to CO and CA for a few days, and I’m so excited! I get to visit a couple good friends from high school (okay, more like preschool) and I can’t wait to see them again! There is a rodeo involved. Please, don’t be too jealous.

But enough of that, on to this week’s Thursday Thoughts!

1. Yesterday my mom and I went to get manicures together. I got hot pink (duh) and my mom got a little wild and got a very pale pink. Very pale. I sent the pictures to my friend and she noticed that my mom and I have the same fingers – she was right!

2. I made a recipe bucket list board on pinterest with a few recipes that I definitely want to try in the next couple of months. I figured this would be less overwhelming than looking over my giant pages of meals!

3. How pretty are these necklaces?! Living in SC leaves you permanently in love with all things monogramed.

Would love one of these!

4. I’ll be in San Francisco for a couple days next week. Any “must-see” suggestions from those of you who’ve traveled there?

5. I’ve been doing Jillian Michael’s Ripped in 30 DVD this week. It’s 4 weeks and each week you advance to the next level. Week 1 was rough… Scared to start week 2’s workout.

6. I watched Bring It On last night on AMC. Is it bad that I still love that movie? I think I always will…

7. I appreciated all of your thoughts and opinions on the Whole30 Program. I’m still considering whether or not I’ll commit to the 30 days, but if I do to see if it helps my digestion, I’ll definitely keep you updated. And for those of you who think it’s crazy, remember that it’s just 30 days! Haha this is NOT going to turn into a paleo blog, hello, Peace Love & OATS!

8. I found all my old CDs and I’m adding them into my iTunes Library. There are some serious winners in there…

9. Have a great Thursday!

Take the shot!

What are some old CDs you have in your music library?

What color are your nails right now?

  1. Omg! I have bewitched still in my room! That’s awesome you are going to California for a few days. Enjoy! When I went to San Francisco I remember we went up this zig zag street and visited the golden gate state park. I love those monogrammed necklaces! Have a great trip 🙂

  2. My nails are unpainted sadly, but that is going to change at some point in the next few weeks (I love yours! not a color I would normally pick, but I think I might get something similar just to be different!), and my old cds include both of the two you mentioned, in addition to NSYNC, BSB, and Jock Jams…all of which make an appearance on my running playlist…and your trip sounds so much fun!! I hope you have an awesome time and can’t wait to hear all the details from it 🙂

  3. I also watched Bring it On on AMC last night! Well, not the entire thing. I was in bed by 9:30… But, anyway…ah that movie never gets old. I grew up cheerleading and so it’s very near and dear to my heart. I can still recite the entire thing. 😉

  4. I LOVE THESE POSTS! You know that already though bc I think I tell you that every single time 😉 <3

My nails are teal right now – pretty much the same colour as your background for the blog!!!!! 😀

So happy you got a mani with your mama – how fun

  5. If you have time, going to Alcatraz may be touristy but it’s also fun! Also, I have a feeling you’d enjoy the Ferry Building marketplace. Skip Pier 39, there’s not much to see there. Chinatown is an awesome place to buy fun but cheap scarves, chopsticks, and other assorted awesomeness.

I’ve always wanted to check out the Palace of Fine Arts and walk around Golden Gate Park but it’s so far from everything else and public transit is crap and taxis are few and far between. But, if you have a car, go check that out, too.

    • I looked up Alcatraz and the tickets are bit much for my zero dolla budget, but I’ll check out some of your other suggestions, I’m definitely going to the Ferry Building!

  6. I painted my nails this morning! I have a professional networking lunch this afternoon, so I went with “shell we dance”…a very pale pink. Better than the busted “chips ahoy” that I was rocking for the past three days.

    Excited for your SF trip!

  7. B*Witched! Their C’est La Vie single was the first CD I ever bought. True life. Haha. When I moved out of my parents house I went through all my old CDs. Most of them didn’t make it onto my iTunes, but my Dream Street CD from sixth grade DEFINITELY did haha. It’s terrible, awful, really crappy music, but man oh man does it make my day whenever one of their songs comes up on shuffle. Gotta love the middle school throwback!

  8. ha! those cds! love it 🙂

in SF you must go to the ferry building (during the farmer’s market if you can swing it). it’s in piers 1-4 ish. and go to eat at plant cafe organic after you stroll through.

oh and last time i was in the ferry building for the farmer’s market there was this totally awesome GF bakery that made my mouth water. cant remember the name though…i think mariposa.

that whole area is fantastic. just stroll along the piers and enjoy the bridge views.

    • I definitely want to go to the Ferry Building! And I’m writing down plant cafe organic and to look for a GF bakery, my friend I’m staying with has celiac so she might know!

  9. Embarrassing yet hilarious, I just found an old S Club 7 cd… does anyone even remember them? I would be lying if I said I didn’t listen to it in the car AND remembered most of the words- yikes!

  10. This just reminds me that I desperately need to start painting my nails again…I had shellac nails at the beginning of December for a while and it really weakened my nails, so I’ve been letting them strengthen up again. But they’re looking almost back to normal now, so I’m thinking that a manicure is on the horizon.

And you can never go wrong with a Jillian Michaels workout!

    • How often did you do the workout each week? I bought it on amazon instant video so I didn’t get the actual DVD or any instructions with it!

  11. My nails are hot pink right now too! I did them myself though so they’re definitely far from as pretty as yours 🙂
I haven’t tried that specific Jillian Michaels dvd, but I’ve tried a lot of hers and loved every single one. Her “Yoga Meltdown” video is my absolute favorite yoga to do!

  12. I am loving the hot pink! I usually get bright colors like that… I tend to stick to more coral ones, but sometimes you just have to go with pure pink ;)Jealous about San Fran, it’s a city I dream to go to! one day, it shall happen fore sureee

  13. haha – so true about SC love of monogrammed things!
I got Ripped in 30 for Christmas, but haven’t added it too my routine yet- It looks intense, but I know Jillian gets results!
